My Girlfriend Proposed To Me, Help!

I met this girl last year September at a cousin’s wedding reception and we exchanged contacts.
photo

We had a first date and I discovered that she is a banker and she discovered  to her disappointment that I am a school teacher. She said she likes my personality but doesn’t like my job.

Honestly, I have been looking for a better job but you know nigeria is now.
Somehow, we pulled along but no much intimacy as we only meet on weekends and maybe like once a month or so.

Anytime she comes around, she tells me stories of her colleagues, suitors etc, and of course every one of them has a car and is richer than myself. She pings and answers phone calls of people I suspect to be her toasters or so, she was just in control.
I just played cool. She never asked me for anything and I never asked her too.

In March, she lost her job, so she became more available at my place. Later, she started asking me to define our relationship, my plans for her and future, etc. But, somehow I discovered what I believe is the problem: Her elder bros she’s been staying with will be relocating to east by October when his rent expires.

My girlfriend say she cannot leave lagos, especially with the kind of family she’s from, she won’t be allowed to rent an apartment here especially as she’s got no job.

So, she wants me to marry her before then, she says if money is my problem, that she’ll support me with 350K from her savings. She even said her brother (who works in the oil rig) can help me get a better job since I studied Engineering, but, that will be after our marriage.

This came as a surprise to me because I thought she’s the madam here. Besides, I will want to marry when I’m ready and to mrs right. I know I like her very much, but, a friend of mine Jude says I should use my brain and not my heart.

Jude says she’s not employable again as she studied food Science tech and has been in the bank for 4 years and that she needs marriage to secure her life and future. He says she will  turned to a liability and that she doesn’t love me.
What do I do, what do I tell her ? Please Help!

Lil Romeo Flaunts His Abs On The Cover Of Rolling Out (Photo)

Lil Romeo is not little anymore and he has his 6 pack to prove it! The 22 year old singer flaunted his abs on the cover of Rolling Out magazine where he talked about his ‘grown-man business.’

In the latest edition of the magazine he chats about the secret to remaining relevant as well as advice he’s received from his father, Master P.
He dishes on the three things that makes a woman sexy. (hint: read a book, be positive and get right in the kitchen, ladies!)
On Remaining Relevant & Not Being Looked At As Just A Child Star
I think a lot of artists don’t understand the concept of change. It’s just like life, because as a kid growing up in the business, I saw my father evolve every few years. Just knowing that everything is going to change with time and nothing stays the same. I remember I used to wear baggy jeans and everybody used to have their throwback jerseys. There’s no way I would wear those kind of clothes now. But just like fashion changes, your body, mind and life change as well.
On His Dad, Master P
He says life has no limits and that’s why he named the label that. The main thing is you’re the richest person on earth if you have your education. That is why I put my career on hold for three years to go to school at USC, and I still only have one more year left until I graduate. If you have your education, anything is possible at the end of the day because nobody can take that away from you.
On 3 Things That Make a Woman Sexy
Education; gotta be a smart woman and independent. Good heart; everyone loves a woman who loves kids and their outlook on life is positive. You gotta know how to cook. If you don’t know how to cook then that’s a problem, especially if you’re from the South like me. And give good massages. I could keep going.

Yoruba man cuts student's throat over N50k debt

Ekiti State Police Command has arrested Mr. Kayode Adewumi, who allegedly killed a student of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Mr. Boluwaji Olarinoye, over a N50,000 debt. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Victor Babayemi, confirmed the arrest of the suspect to a correspondent in Ado-Ekiti on Monday lastweek..
The PPRO said, “We have arrested the suspect. He is in our custody now and is cooperating with us in our investigation. Very soon, we will charge him to court. “He ran away to Lagos State but through the cooperation of some people and intelligence, we were able to arrest him from his hideout.”
Olarinoye was said to have lent Adewumi, his friend, N50,000 but he refused to pay when the deceased asked repayment. It was learnt that when Olarinoye insisted on collecting his money, Adewumi invited him to his residence and an argument ensued. Adewumi allegedly slit Olarinoye’s throat and cut him all over his body with a machete.
Although Olarinoye was rushed to a hospital, newsmen learnt that he died shortly after. The incident, which happened on Friday night in Erijiyan-Ekiti, threw the community into pandemonium. The incident, it was gathered, angered some youths in the town who pursued the suspect but could not catch up with him.
In anger, the youth went back to the suspect’s residence and set it ablaze after other residents had fled. The deceased was said to have lent Adewumi the money, which was part of his school fees, with the hope that he would repay before the commencement of the second semester examination. Calabar Man Stones His Girlfriend To Death After Heated Argument

A young man, Mr. Lawrence Ette, has been accused of stoning his 23-year-old girlfriend, Miss Rosaline Christopher, to death. The tragedy was said to have occurred penultimate Sunday at 13, Academy Street, Calabar, Cross River State. An eyewitness, who is the landlady of the deceased, Miss Dorothy Bassey, said Rosaline had a brawl with her boyfriend, before he allegedly killed her. Bassey said Rosaline, who lived with her aged mother and siblings, had been in a relationship with Ette for a while.
Rosaline
She said because of the frosty relationship between the lovers in recent time, Rosaline’s mother stopped Ette from visiting her daughter. “But even with the instruction from the old woman, Ette kept sneaking in to see the girl particularly at night,” she added. It was learnt that during one of such visits penultimate Sunday, there was a misunderstanding between the lovers, which prompted the girl to ask Ette to leave. Bassey said, “Rosaline did not know that Ette took her phone away.
After some time, her younger sister, Nne, wanted to use the phone only for her to find out that the phone was missing. “That was when she discovered that Ette had gone with the phone. Nne decided to go and look for Ette so that she can get her sister’s phone. “But while Nne took the main exit and headed for Target Street, Ette sneaked into the house through the back door from Webber Street and Nne missed him.”
It was gathered that when Ette returned to the house, an argument ensued between the lovers resulting in a fight. “She did not scream while they were struggling because she wanted to send him away quietly without attracting her mother’s attention but that was her mistake as Ette stepped out of the room, got a stone and hit her with it,” the landlady said. She said when he realized that the girl was dead; Ette allegedly attempted to dispose of the body by throwing it over the fence.
Bassey said, “He carried her on his shoulder towards the backyard and was trying to throw the body over the fence. When the girl’s mother heard a strange noise at the backyard, she asked Nne to find out what it was. “But when Nne got to the backyard, she saw Ette carrying her sister on his shoulder. Immediately he sensed that he had been sighted, he abandoned the corpse and fled. “Since it was dark, a neighbour brought out a torch and during a search, Rosaline’s corpse was found inside the gutter.”
We learnt that her corpse had been taken to the mortuary at the General Hospital, Calabar. One of Ette’s neighbours at 10, Anating Street, Calabar, who craved anonymity, said the suspect “hurriedly came here and packed some clothes into a bag and left and has since not been seen.” When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. John Umoh, said the matter which was reported at Atakpa Police Station was being handled by the homicide unit of the police. “It will not be long before we get him, the advisable thing for him to do is to come out of hiding now,” the PPRO said.

US woman beats her 4 year old son to death for urinating on his body
An American based in Houston, Texas  has been charged with beating her 4-year-old son to death Sunday was allegedly angered that he had wet himself in a car .
Vastie Coleman, 27, whipped her son Kyron Barnes with a cord more than 20 times in a bathtub until his breathing stopped, local TV station KHOU reports .
“I did it, I beat him, it’s all my fault and I don’t care what happens to me,” Coleman told EMS workers who arrived at her home, according to documents obtained by the station. Coleman used a cord because “the belt was broken because mom kept whipping the kids so hard it broke into pieces,” one of Barnes’ two surviving sisters said in court documents obtained by the station.
“I figured there’d be a sign or two—there was nothing, it was always quiet,” neighbor Robin Dawson told the station. I never heard them kids getting a whooping. I got a couple kids myself. They be out there talking to them and I sent my kids out there. They be all eating popsicles together. They popped fire crackers on the Fourth of July.” Two daughter of Coleman have been placed with a foster family after an emergency hearing by a judge. Coleman’s lawyer said the mother was suicidal Tuesday, according to the station..

President Goodluck Jonathan Featured In Vogue Italia

President Goodluck Jonathan Featured In Vogue Italia
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is the face of the newest edition of Vogue Magazine Italia.
It’s Thursday, January 5th when we land in Abuja, capital of Nigeria. Today the Muslim’s ultimatum to the Christians expires. We have a police and military escort to ensure total security. We’re headed to the presidential palace and don’t have much time. We have to take off by 6 pm at the latest. There’s no real danger, they assure us, but it’s best not to take chances. The streets are calm, with none of the confusion one might expect. Abuja is beautiful, with lots of greenery and imposing villas hidden behind high walls.
The city has an air of wealth, and is spotlessly clean everywhere. We’re late for our appointment due to the flight before ours, as well as all the security checks. First stop for the car, second for document check, during which we’re photographed, and finally for surrendering all our cameras and cell phones. The situation is rather complicated in Nigeria right now, and everyone performs their job with attention to every detail.
The fact that they won’t let us bring any photographic equipment is a real disappointment. They understand that this is a problem for us, so they offer us a book full of photos of the President. We can choose whichever ones we want, they tell us. “No”, I reply politely, “we take our own photos. Vogue has its own style and we want to maintain it”. I stand there with the book in my hand and everyone’s eyes on me, wondering what I might say or do next. “Ok, let me speak with the President and see what I can do”. Between the disappointment of the photographer and cameraman and the lack of reassurance that the President would even be there, I feel like it’s all my fault.
A guard and the Chief of Protocol come to lead us to the Oval Room where we were to meet the President. I turn and see my whole team looking vaguely defeated. “Smile, please. And that’s not a request!”. Then Goodluck Jonathan, President of Nigeria, elected on 16 April 2011, enters the room, returning our smiles with his own. Elegantly dressed in a blue suit composed of a tunic and trousers with a gold pocket chain and his signature wide-brimmed hat, he is followed by the Vice President, who is Muslim, while Jonathan is an evangelical Christian. We are also joined by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, a gorgeous and elegant woman – who also happens to be a princess – dressed in traditional robes, with a Master’s from Cambridge and the distinction of being the first woman to run Nigeria’s most important ministry, given that it is the world’s 8th largest oil exporter.

Lastly, Edem Duke, Minister of Culture and Tourism, enters the room, with his authoritative bulk and wide-brimmed hat like the President’s. We all sit. I’m next to the President, who invites Alison-Madueke to say a few words. She offers a detailed illustration of our F4D project and our idea to dedicate a whole issue to Africa, but with a positive slant in order to convey an image of the continent that’s not all famine and death, but that is full of potential for growth and expansion toward new development initiatives. President Jonathan warmly supports both projects and he casts me a gentle look that needs no reply. “Your turn, and be convincing”, his eyes seem to say. So I begin.

“Mr. President, thank you for having granted our request for an interview. It is true that we are a magazine of images, but I think that there is a lot to do in terms of your country’s image, which at the moment does not come across as wealthy and stable, despite having oil and other great prospects”. He interrupts me and informs me that the country’s motto at this time is ‘Rebranding Nigeria’. “I couldn’t agree more, truly. But I would like to revive your textile industry, which used to be strong but have been overshadowed, though not forgotten, since the discovery of oil. Why sell the tie-dye patent to the Chinese, who will end up producing it there? In the course of a couple of generations, knowledge of your tradition will disappear. At least if it were produced in Nigeria there would be work for the local population and your culture wouldn’t be lost.  You have amazing potential – just look at what happened in Brazil, or at how many European and American companies make their goods in China. Why can’t all this be done in Nigeria?”.

He smiles and nods in agreement. I go on: “All the richest Nigerians spend their money abroad because there a no shops here, no hotels with a chic African flair, no hip restaurants or clubs. Why not build an African Rodeo Drive in Lagos or Abuja, with boutiques carrying both imported and Nigerian goods?”. I stop, perhaps I’m going too far. He looks at me and says: “You know our designers. They’re talented and very creative”. “Of course”, I continue. “You have Duro Olowu, who is famous as Louboutin in America and Europe, and many others. There’s also Mercedes, which sponsors a lot of fashion weeks. We could talk about doing one here. In any case, there is no shortage of ideas, but we need to act, and quickly. In the northern part of the continent, Nigeria is the country with the greatest potential. Why not take advantage of it?“. I stop. The President looks at his ministers with a satisfied smile and appears to agree with what I said. He then states that he will do everything to help us, and to make sure that all this isn’t just talk. “I agree, and this will serve as a basis for reflection. We have problems of various kinds, some of them very serious, but this will not impede our country from moving forward and changing our image. I thank you for having spoken openly and frankly.
Is there something I can do for you, even if you’re only here for a few hours?». I laugh, relieved, without missing a beat: “Certainly – a photo, taken by us in the Vogue style. Give us the sign and they’ll bring in the equipment”. He looks around with that shy, kind smile. “How can I say no?”, he exclaims. As the Minister of Tourism leaves the room, he says: “It’s true that dynamite always comes in a small package”.

Registration for the Destiny Child is free. Interested youths are hereby enjoined to visit the website at http://www.destinychild.com.ng. Auditions will be conducted in six zones; Abuja, Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Thursday – Saturday, August 2-4, 2012, Makurdi, Royal Choice Inn, Lobi Qtrs., Monday-Wednesday, August 6-8, 2012, Owerri at All Season Motel, Friday-Sunday, August 10-12, 2012, Port Harcourt at LA Kings, Stadium Road, Tuesday-Thursday, August 14-16, Benin, Motel Plaza, GRA (opposite Press Centre), Saturday-Monday, August 18-20, 2012 and Lagos, at the famous Water Parks, Toyin Street, Ikeja, Wednesday-Friday, August 22-24, 2012.
To further add spice to the musical reality show, popular gospel act, Samsong will lead the panel of judges; other members of the panel include U-cheena and Tim Godfrey as they are well-tested and at the same time quality musicians who are very much in tune with what a modern musician should be and the qualities one should possess.
The viewing audience will have the opportunity to follow and vote for their candidates to ascertain the three winners of Destiny Child Season One (1). The first episode will be aired on Sunday, September 16, 2012 and every other Sunday till December 9 when the finals and the ‘Destiny Child’ will emerge.

Winners will be determined by the viewing public’s vote through sms messages and the judges at 50 percent respectively.
In a statement by U-cheena, the producer of the show ‘’98% of secular musicians are Christians who got their career boost while singing in the church, and based on their individual vocational assessment, they were certified as great talented musicians, but absence of potential sponsorship within Nigerian Christian community literally deprived them opportunities in gospel music hence the reason they subscribed to secular music which attracts sponsorship based on its societal acceptance and moral decadence in the Nigerian community and entertainment sector’’.

Door To Hell? Giant Hole In The Desert On Fire For Over 40 Years (Photo)

Door To Hell? Giant Hole In The Desert On Fire For Over 40 Years (Photo)
The hole in the heart of the Karakum Desert was created in 1971 when a drilling rig used by Soviet geologists collapsed.
photo

The team decided to burn off poisonous gases inside the crater but the fire, which they believed would be out within days, is still going.
At first glance, it could be a dramatic scene from a science-fiction movie. But this giant hole of fire in the heart of the Karakum Desert is not the aftermath of an attack on Earth, launched from outer space. It is a crater made by geologists more than 40 years ago, and the flames within have been burning ever since.
Welcome to Derweze in Turkmenistan - or, as the locals have called it, 'The Door to Hell'.
Take a look at the pictures...
